Gerrit is an electronic engineer born and bred in the Western Cape. With a passion for low-level, high-performance programming, his career has traversed a spectrum of technical challenges – from automating small airships and programming ASICs in assembly language to processing packets on12 Tb/s programmable network switches.
Holding an MSc in Electronic Engineering from Stellenbosch University, Gerrit currently applies his expertise at Dendrite Cyber, where he is allowed to play with programmable dataplanes for high-speed packet processing. He thrives on constructing end-to-end platforms with attention to deployment, operator experience, and extracting meaningful insights from network data.
Gerrit is still trying to perfect the ratio between making and breaking things.
